A unique connection motivated former St. Joseph’s football coach Chris Goodman to make the jump to Travelers Rest, where he’s entering his first season leading the Devildogs, a mascot with special meaning to him.Goodman joined the Marines after September 11th and served our country from 2002 to 2006. The nickname for a Marine is a Devil Dog, so Goodman felt a special connection to the mascot and the program.”I’ve dreamt of moving up in football since I was a little kid,” Goodman said. “The creation of this program, the Devildog program and Chico Bolin and the history, really spoke to me and as I met people it sort of came to fruition.
