BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo’s first hatchet-throwing business is scaling back operations after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Hatchets & Hops has sold its Brooklyn operation and will close its site in Black Rock in late March, focusing all of its efforts on its original site downtown at 505 Main St., said owner/founder Andrew Piechowicz.

“It really has a lot to do with resource management, trying to focus on Buffalo with everything we do and put all our energy here where we started,” he said.
