Rain, snow, winds return to Southern Alaska into Easter weekend [Video]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Some light areas of wintry mix is falling across Southcentral Alaska this morning, with the rest of the region sitting under cloud coverage.

While that has been the case this morning, some sunshine will return throughout the day. The sunshine will be short-lived as clouds will quickly return to the region into the weekend. Wet avalanches will continue to be a concern With afternoon sunshine expected today and limited freezing in the mountains. While it’s moderate at all levels today, an incoming storm will lead to a rise to considerable levels above 2,500 feet by Friday morning. Remember to evaluate the snow and terrain carefully in the coming days, as additional melting and snow destabilization occurs.
