Parents, teachers unhappy with MACAA Head Start leadership – [Video]

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — Lack of communication and mismanagement, that’s what both parents and teachers at MACAA Head Start are saying as the program transitions to CDI, leaving the people who rely on the program frustrated.

“I always tell my coworkers I feel like we’re on the Titanic and we’re the band that continues to play even when the ship is sinking,” said an anonymous current employee.

“So, they look at the money part and not the reality. The kids and the families,” said an anonymous former employee.

“You left so many families high and dry. We were all blindsided completely,” said Jessica Thomas, a mom of four, whose child attended MACAA Head Start.

Employees and parents at MACAA Head Start are sharing their frustrations over what they call “lack of communication and mismanagement” from their leaders.
