Adults with disabilities to display their creativity at CityLinks hub [Video]

PEORIA (25News Now) – The Community Workshop and Training Center (CWTC) is working to support adults with disabilities to find their independence.

Recently the organization created an art program to help clients. Many of them ride CityLink and can see their own artwork at the transit system’s hub in Downtown Peoria, starting April 2.

“The individual that we partner out within the community through our art program Jodi Tokas from the hive and we sat down and created two cages and a large mirror piece, said Lexi Rivas Community integration, Lexi Rivas Coordinator of Community Integration.

One of the pieces represents CityLink maps and routes.

“It makes me feel good actually. We just come out and just paint,” said one of the inspiring artists.

Some of the paintings represent the well-known spots in Peoria.

“I painted part of the Avanti’s logo. That’s the Gondola guy, said artist John Gamage.
