Amazon Risks ‘War of Attrition’ With 5-Day RTO Mandate: Management Experts [Video]

On Tuesday, Amazon, the second-largest U.S. employer behind Walmart, sent a memo to corporate employees requiring them to be in the office five days a week. In response, several employees have expressed disagreement with this decision.

Some have posted that they are “Open to Work” on LinkedIn while The Wall Street Journal reports that the workforce is consumed with “concern and debate.”

Among tech peers, Salesforce did recently enforce a mandate requiring workers in the office up to four days a week, though it still appeared to offer hybrid and remote flexibility for employees based on their role and function. Disney and Starbucks have mandated four and three days in the office, respectively. But Amazon appears to have gone the farthest of any major employer outside of finance and banking.
