The Brisbane Lions have categorically denied that a rift developed in their playing group following an off-season trip to the US.
It was reported on Friday that personal relationships were damaged after a WhatsApp group’s messages were inadvertently synced by one player’s iCloud via his phone.
Football boss Danny Daly denied on Monday that that the club’s top brass had been in crisis meetings, saying he had spoken to co-captains Harris Andrews and Lachie Neale for barely a minute about the issues.
Both denied there were any ongoing issues. Neale was one of a small group of Lions players who travelled to America, along with former Hawthorn and Geelong premiership player Isaac Smith. Andrews was in Europe.
Daly said he was “100 per cent” blindsided by the reports.
