Federally sponsored event highlighting online privacy occurring in March [Video]

OLYMPIA, Wash.- The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will host PrivacyCon on March 6, featuring presentations from global experts on data privacy.

Artificial intelligence (AI), young people online, employee surveillance and advertising will be the main policy issues discussed by attendees. Anyone interested in the event can watch the live FTC webcast.

Experts from educational and business institutions across the globe will attend panel discussions on the aforementioned interest areas, which will be moderated by FTC officials.

The event occurs in the midst of lawmakers raising concern with the implications of AI and legal cases involving young people being exploited online.

Policy events hosted by federal agencies often yield new academic research and suggestions to lawmakers. More information about PrivacyCon can be found on the FTC’s website.
