FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Heavy Rain Expected Monday and Tuesday [Video]

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – They say April showers bring May flowers, and we are expected to start April with enough rain for the entire month. Easter Sunday will be calm with cloudy skies and a chance for a stray shower, but overnight into Monday morning will kick off a very active week of weather. We are expecting strong to severe showers and storms across the area starting overnight into Monday morning and continuing through Tuesday. Models have remained consistent over the last 24-36 hours with expecting 2-4 inches of rain to fall across the area between 12:01 am Monday to 11:59 pm on Tuesday. Luckily most of this rain will come in bursts rather than consistently over that 48 hour period, which should provide some relief to storm drains and soil.
