Its a mess. Brandon Golf Course and others still closed after massive flood damage [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) — The historic, torrential floods from late last week took away homes, businesses, and some lives.

They also put on hold a “way of life” for others.

Most of the public golf courses in the Sioux Falls metro area were closed for at least a day or two starting Friday, and some are still unplayable as they sit in water on Wednesday.

The largest facility still silently soaking is Brandon Golf Course, an 18-hole championship facility just 10 miles from the heart of Sioux Falls that hasn’t seen a golfer in almost a week after half of its holes were submerged in two to 12 feet of water.

Gone and never to be replaced are 200-300 rounds of golf and $6,000-$10,000 in revenue from green fees and cart fees every day… and counting. And that’s not counting the immense losses in food and beverage …
