KC comic fans invited to area coffee house for pop-up hosted by local creators [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City area comic fans have been invited to an Olathe coffee house to attend a pop-up event hosted by local creators.

Darkmoon Comics, a Kansas City-based publishing company for manga, comics and graphic novels, has announced that it will host a pop-up event at Comic Coffeehouse, 1857 S. Ridgeview Rd., in Olathe between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on March 23.

The publisher noted that it was launched in November 2020 to put KC on the map for the creative abilities of those who inhabit the city and to increase the representation of Black characters in comics.

Darkmoon indicated that Founder, Brandon Calloway, Editor in Chief, Mike Gladney, and Writer, Aarron Conaway, will all be present to share their work and discuss future plans for the brand.

The publishing company said it has published 9 comics since 2021, 8 more are in production, 5 motion …
