RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Black Hills Bagels in Rapid City has been operating since 1997.

Six months ago, Eric and his wife Marla Hawronsky took over the business and are now operating both locations in Rapid City.

“We definitely are trying to stay true to the core of what Black Hills Bagels is but also add some fresh new menu items and just kind of streamline things to improve service,” Eric Hawronsky, owner of Black Hills Bagels, said.

However, Eric Hawronsky didn’t just jump into the bagel business, he previously owned B.C. Bagels in North Dakota.

“I ran that for about six years and when the opportunity to come down here opened up I ended up selling it,” Hawronsky said.

One core value that Hawronsky said is important to him is hospitality.

“When you come here it’s more of an experience than it is just to come and fill your stomachs,” Hawronsky said.
