College basketball coaches are known to dabble in outside golf-related businesses — even if they don’t always turn out to be the wisest investments, like UConn coach Geno Auriemma’s in bankrupt Back9 Network.

Tennessee coach Rick Barnes sunk some of his cash into the semi-private Brookstone Meadows Golf & Country Club in Anderson, South Carolina. It probably looked like a better investment when he was coaching at Clemson, 20 miles away, versus the 200-mile drive from Knoxville.

Now, he’s listing the Tom Jackson design for sale, for $1.6 million. The 6,685-yard layout has bentgrass greens, Bermuda fairways, a complete practice area and a 6,000-sqft clubhouse with bar and shop. Memberships start at $150 per month, and daily fee golfers can play for $45 on weekends and $36 during the week.
