Tennessee blasting company stripped of license after accident [Video]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A blasting company responsible for injuring three people in Ashland City got its license taken away after a massive blast went wrong.

The aftermath hit nearby Caymas Boats off Highway 12 in November 2023. Pictures showed holes the size of basketballs were made in a building where the company said people were working just minutes before.

WSMV4 also obtained surveillance video that shows hundreds of rocks being ricocheted toward Caymas Boats.

The company responsible for the blast is Hammons Drilling & Blasting. It must surrender its license according to the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. The Fayetteville, Tennessee, company can also not register as a blasting firm with the state for five years. The owner, Timothy Hammons, cannot own any state blasting company for two years and the company must pay $10,000.
