On the mound, Tigers right-hander Reese Olson (0-2, 3.86 ERA) will face Twins righty Bailey Ober (0-1, 6.57).
Olson didn’t face the Twins when they were in town last week. In his last start on April 15 against the Texas Rangers Olson struck out eight and walked one in six innings, allowing just one run. But the Tigers spoiled his performance by squandering opportunities on offense. They lost, 1-0.
The Tigers saw Ober in Detroit on April 14 when he pitched six scoreless innings. The Tigers rallied to win after Ober had departed the game.
Ober was selected by the Twins in the 12th round of the 2017 draft out of the College of Charleston.
Since his debut in 2021, Ober has a 3.75 ERA over 60 starts (305 innings).
