A top aide for ‘America’s worst mayor’ Tiffany Henyard has been indicted on bankruptcy fraud.
Keith Freeman is accused of under reporting his income by almost $200,000 on a bankruptcy petition he filed in Chicago in January.
The 45-year-old failed to disclose earnings from his role as Village Administrator for Dolton and the Municipality Manager for Thornton Township, as well as fees he received from his consulting business, according to a federal indictment.
He also did not notify the court of a $90,000 claim against him from his previous employers, the Village of Robbins, meaning they were excluded from his bankruptcy case, the filings state.
The scandal is the latest to hit the small Illinois town of Dolton, which is at the center of a probe led by Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot over misconduct allegations against its mayor, Henyard.
