WETUMPKA, Ala. (WSFA) – The Premier 1 is one big boat.
“She’s gonna weigh somewhere around 65,000 pounds,” said Ricky Baker with Sentinel Boat Company. “She’s 60 feet long, 24 feet wide, and can carry 135 passengers.”
It was built off the banks of the Coosa River in Wetumpka, Alabama, by the Sentinel Boat Company. It’s been in business for around a decade and has sent custom boats all over the country.
“We build U.S. Coast Guard-certified vessels. They’re considered small passenger vessels, but they’re not small.”
The big boat is on the way to her new home in Pensacola, Florida. It’s a dolphin cruise boat that’ll be docked at the Portofino Beach Resort. It took nine months to build.
