1000s more may have wanted to sign Cantrell recall [Video]

Organizers of the effort to get a recall election of New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell on the ballot and elections officials are working out a potential settlement that could determine how many signatures are needed to make it happen. The signatures may not tell the whole story.

Many recall efforts realize they aren’t getting enough support and fizzle out without ever handing over petitions to elections officials. That the NoLatoya campaign even made it this far is an outlier, and political analyst Clancy DuBos told WWL’s Scoot on the Air that more — maybe thousands more — wanted to sign, but held back
