BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The cyber attack against the Alabama Department of Education announced Wednesday isn’t the first data breach we’ve been following. Several have impacted central Alabama including one at the city of Birmingham and another at Ascension St. Vincent’s hospital.
With an increase in cyber attacks, it’s important to protect your data before it becomes compromised.
Data breaches continue to rise in the U.S. They are up 78% last year compared to 2022 according to the Identity Theft Resource Center. Cyber security experts say they can happen to governments, big companies, and small businesses. No one is immune, so that’s why it’s critical to act quickly if hackers get a hold of your information.
