Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car and seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in the area of several restaurants and shops in Wakefield, Massachusetts. A 78-year-old was struck by a car in the area of 49 Water St. at approximately 2:30 p.m., according to Deputy Chief Craig Calabrese of the Wakefield Police Department. The victim was transported to an area hospital.Sky5 flew over the area and saw Water Street closed just before the intersection with Vernon Street.
