(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Starting on July 1, Indiana bars and restaurants will be allowed to sell alcoholic beverages to-go.
This is not the drive through daiquiris of Louisiana. The alcohol-to-go will have to be in special sealed containers.
Cody Jackson, with the Hacienda Mexican Restaurants, told WSBT in South Bend, they’re going to be offering carry-out margaritas.
“I think it would give us a really good boom for our carry out business. And we’re just excited to see what it does. We honestly have no idea but we feel we have a signature product to offer the public and we hope it’s really successful.”
The law allowing alcohol-to-go also relaxed a ban on happy hour.
Chicago started allowing take-out alcohol during the pandemic.
