Vermont selected for federal AHEAD model, set to launch in 2026 [Video]

Vermont is one of three states that have been chosen this month to participate in a new federal effort that works to improve the cost of health care. The All-Payer Health Equity Approaches and Development (AHEAD) model could change how hospitals are paid for some services and it’s getting attention from local providers. The program wouldn’t officially launch here until 2026, to improve health care equity statewide. Over the next year, Vermont will work with the federal government to determine the specifics of the AHEAD model. It could be in place for up to 10 years.”It focuses on shifting the way we pay for our health care, especially for hospitals.
