Tigers lineup: Riley Greene starting at DH on Wednesday [Video]

Riley Greene is back in the lineup as designated hitter on Wednesday night.

The Detroit Tigers (50-52) and Cleveland Guardians (60-40) play at 6:40 p.m. at Progressive Field.

Greene missed Tuesday’s game with leg soreness.

Catcher Jake Rogers; infielder Andy Ibanez; and outfielders Justyn-Henry Malloy and Bligh Madris will be available off the bench.

On the mound, Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty (7-5, 3.13 ERA) will face Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee (8-4, 3.58).

This could be Flaherty’s last start as a Tiger. He’s tentatively scheduled to pitch next on July 29, one day before the trade deadline. But if the Tigers are deeply involved in trade talks at that point, they may be cautious about risking a last-minute injury.

Bibee was runner-up to Orioles infielder Gunnar Henderson in the 2023 American League Rookie of the Year balloting. He had a 2.98 ERA in 25 starts, striking out 141 and walking 45 in 142 innings.
