Ride along with Medford Police’s Livability Team | Top Stories [Video]

MEDFORD, Ore. – Medford Police’s Livability Team was created to help the city address the issue of homelessness. NewsWatch 12 had the opportunity to go on a ride along with the team to see what they’re day is like.

Corporal RJ Josephson works with the livability team. Usually his days start in Downtown Medford or near the Bear Creek Greenway. 

When Josephson starts his day downtown, most of his work is making sure members of the homeless community that are sleeping outside are okay and out of the way of businesses before they open. Often when he’s on the greenway, community service partners will follow behind picking up garbage or offering services to the homeless community.

Whether he’s starting in downtown or on the greenway, Josephson has a unique opportunity to create relationships with the homeless community. He said …
