Torve, Dietrich talk Post 22s chance at state starting Tuesday [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – No. 2 Post 22 is gearing up for the first round of the state baseball tournament next Tuesday against No. 7 Brookings.

”These are two big wins to punch our ticket into Brookings, and it may not have been super close games but they were competitive and we had to find our way on base,” Hardhats first baseman Alex Dietrich said. “Just keeping the bats rolling, keeping our pitching loose and warm. We feel confident. We’re pretty confident this year. We got a good feeling, we got a good team this year.”

Post 22 swept Huron 8-0 and 13-0 last Thursday and Friday. The Hardhats earn the 2-seed overall behind top-seeded Harrisburg Gold. Post 22 has relied on a full batting order to power them to a 53-15 record. Tate Crosswait has provided numerous home runs, including a three run blast against Huron.
