Stanley Park celebrates 75 years with fun-filled day [Video]

WESTFIELD – When Frank Stanley Beveridge came to Westfield to start his business and make a home for his family, he unknowingly started a tradition that would be handed down for generations to come, not just for his own family, but for an entire community. Or perhaps, he did know.

“He was a strong believer in the power of community and spent much of his life building networks of people to help empower them to be their best,” said Beveridge’s great-grandson, Ward S. Caswell.

Beveridge’s efforts resulted in the creation of a park that serves an entire region. This year, Stanley Park turns 75 and the community is invited to celebrate together with a day filled with events Aug. 17. The schedule is available at stanleypark.org.
