Heart-Of-The-Valley Locks Paddle sets new start location due to high water levels [Video]

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WBAY) – Kayakers are expected to take over the Fox River with the “Heart-Of-The-Valley Locks Paddle” event near Kimberly on Saturday, but paddlers say some things will be a little different this year.

Over 50 kayakers are expected to hit the waters Saturday morning and though things may be a bit different, that isn’t stopping folks from enjoying this opportunity.

“It was something I’ve always wanted to do, it just never timed out with my schedule. So I’m really looking forward to it,” said Andrew Dane, a Fox Cities kayaker.

For those like Andrew, this is a pretty exciting time to enjoy the great outdoors. But with the recent weather organizers say the ‘heart-of-the-valley locks paddle’ event will be shortened to keep people safe.
