Starbucks’ newly hired CEO has been condemned for his outrageous 1,000-mile super-commute by private jet — all while the coffee chain preaches about sustainability.

Brian Niccol will be allowed to stay at his home in the sunny surrounds of Newport Beach, California, and take a three-hour flight to Seattle on company money to the tune of $250,000 a year.

Niccol, who is set to run the iconic chain from September 9, will be eligible to fly on the company’s aircraft for ‘business-related travel’ between his city of residence and Starbucks HQ in Washington’s state capital.

He will not be required to relocate to Seattle, but will be subject to the company’s hybrid work policy which involves being in the office three days per week.

Niccol’s super-commute and the emissions it will generate stand in direct contradicition with the environmentally friendly initiatives Starbucks pushes publicly.
