The Hawaii State Department of Education announced today that 20 previously suspended school bus routes in Central Oahu will run again Monday, August 26. About 604 student riders across seven schools will have access to bus routes again this coming week. Last week, 34 routes for 1,200 students that were just restored.
HONOLULU (Island News) — The Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) announced that 20 previously suspended school bus routes in Central Oahu will run again Monday, Aug. 26, 2024.
Service is being restored for about 604 student riders across seven schools. This follows the 34 routes for 1,200 students that were reinstated last week.
The bus service contractor Ground Transport Inc. (GTI) has secured additional drivers and buses through Polynesian Adventure Tours. This subcontract is part of continuing efforts to restore suspended routes. Roberts Hawaii and Polynesian Adventure operate routes that were recently restored and serviced by buses …
