SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – It’s back to school for many in western Mass starting next week, and now, police and many parents are urging drivers to be careful, especially around school bus stops.
“Cars just past by so crazy, they don’t even slow down for the kids,” Springfield resident Jennifer Dumolt claimed.”
Many students are going back to school over the next couple of weeks, which means a vast number of school buses will be the main transportation for students going to and from school.
Many police departments step up patrols around school bus stops as students return to class. Western Mass News spoke with one parent about how she feels about that.
“I would love to see more cops involved in the bus stops, the school, so our kids can feel safety.”
Another parent told us she absolutely wants to see more police at the bus stops.
