Grades K-12 heading back to school in Springfield [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – On Monday, students at Springfield Public Schools returned to the classroom with a new superintendent in charge. It was a big day for students, like fifth grader Madison Molina and her sister Akire, who entered second grade. For them and their classmates at Hiram l. Dorman Elementary School, it was once again that time to say goodbye to summer and hello to learning. For Madison, she had some mixed feelings about it.

“(I’m) not very excited because…I don’t know, I’m just not excited,” Madison said.

She was excited, though, to see her friends again and her teachers. Plenty of smiles could be seen on both the students and the educators.
