A Chelsea police officer was seriously injured after having a portion of his ear bitten off while responding to a domestic incident on Friday afternoon, police said.According to Chelsea police, the officer was responding to a call on Shurtleff Street around 2:15 p.m. when the situation escalated.Police said when the officer arrived at the scene, they encountered an aggressive individual who, during a struggle, bit off a portion of the officer’s ear. Chelsea police said officers deployed a stun gun, subduing the person and placing them into custody.The incident started inside the Chelsea Commons, a building to house people with substance abuse issues.
