Hundreds of townhomes and apartments coming to Greensboro area [Video]

The Carroll Companies will build a complex on Fleming Road that has more than 750 housing units.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The changing landscape on Fleming Road in northwest Greensboro is evident just about everywhere you look.

“The neighborhood has changed a lot. The traffic has increased dramatically with ongoing development,” said long-time resident Timothy DaVane. “You see animals running out from different areas because they have nowhere to go.”

And that’s expected to continue.

DaVane said he’s optimistic about the planned growth.

“Development must come nothing is going to stay the same. I’m cautiously optimistic. The developer in question they’ve been responsible in the past as far as the projects they’ve been involved with,” DaVane said. “I hope that continues we’d like to be a good neighbor.”

Carroll already owns the land and plans to name the residential area the Madison on Fleming Road.

The city has approved the rezoning and site plans are in the works.
