PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man was shot and killed in Old City Wednesday night while many surrounding bars and restaurants were still open.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. at 2nd and Chestnut streets. Surveillance cameras at some nearby businesses were able to capture the moment the 33-year-old victim went down.
“The victim approached the driver’s side of a vehicle and when the door of that vehicle opened, that’s when our victim collapsed … after getting shot,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Police responded to 911 calls and found the bleeding victim on the ground with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and torso. They took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Michael Clemens.
