The discount retailer revealed its updated store closing list just a couple days after filing for bankruptcy.
WASHINGTON — Big Lots now plans to close more than 340 stores nationwide, the discount retailer revealed just days after it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
In a Sept. 11 filing, the Columbus, Ohio-based company updated its initial store closing list to include 344 locations across 41 states.
The company said earlier this week it plans to sell its assets and ongoing business operations to private equity firm Nexus Capital Management.
California has the most Big Lots stores closing on the list with 75. It’s followed by Florida (28), Arizona (22) and Texas (16).
