Cybersecurity and compliance company Proofpoint will create 250 jobs over the next two years with the opening of a new office in Cork.
The California-headquartered firm has plans for ongoing, active recruitment and continued investment in the region, which will serve an an international hub. The company also has offices in Britain and Northern Ireland.
Proofpoint prevents targeted attacks, protects data and makes clients more resilient against cyber attacks. The Cork office will house key functions including engineering, research and development, customer support, finance, and marketing.
The company currently employs 4,500 people globally, including more than 100 in Cork.
Rémi Thomas, CFO of Proofpoint, said the company’s expansion into Ireland would be critical to its international growth, and solidify its ability to protect its European clients and deliver innovative technology.
