Bancroft roundabout construction causes nearby businesses to struggle [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The intersection of Bancroft Street and McCord Road closed in August for 70 days as the county works to replace it with a roundabout, causing challenges for local businesses in the area.

Businesses operating around the construction have tried adapting, but generating revenue has become difficult with this project.

Speedy Clean Laundromat and Car Wash had relied on loyal customers for years. However, the roundabout construction has made it difficult for customers to reach the business.

Dan Shook, the owner of Speedy Clean, told 13 Action News he has seen an estimated 50% reduction in weekly revenue since the start of the project.

Ivan Ellis is a regular customer at the laundromat and car wash. He has gone to the laundromat for years, and if the business were to close, he would have to explore other options.
