OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Michael Sales was everyone’s friend.
“The mailman stopped by his small business earlier, and he was in tears because he missed him so much,” said his daughter Laura Sales. “That was the kind of guy my dad was…He took an interest in everybody. So many people will miss him.”
Laura and her sister Gracelyn’s mother delivered the devastating news to them on the phone.
“I can’t put into words what it’s like to receive that phone call. I have a huge hole in my heart since losing my dad,” said Gracelyn.
Sales, 70, died in a crash that happened Friday at 10th and Douglas Streets, where Omaha Police said a Jeep struck Sales’ Subaru from behind. Sales and two children inside the Jeep died. Speed and alcohol are being considered as factors contributing to the crash. Charges are pending against the driver of the Jeep.
