Local business owners discuss downtown St. Joseph business | News [Video]

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Local business owners spoke about the state of the business community in St. Joseph. 

The latest addition to the community is Lindsey Bernard who is opening a new sporting goods store in downtown St. Joseph. 

“Small businesses are really becoming popular here, and I think the support of that is really growing,” Bernard said.

“It’s important to give back to your community, putting business back into the community, creating jobs, things like that for people, because St. Joe really needs that.”

Diana Hartzler owns Belle Epoch Cafe and hopes to see greater development downtown and on the Frederick corridor. 

“Everything going on downtown and what we’re building on Frederick is so exciting, Hartzler said.
