TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A local agritourism business is in full-swing for the fall season.
Exploration Acres is open for another season and continues to provide a fun experience for guest.
However the Co-Owner and President of Exploration Acres, Tim Fitzgerald, says the weather this fall has created some challenges.
“We kind of got off to a slow start this year,” said Fitzgerald. “A lot of people just weren’t coming because it was so hot outside. We had high heat indexes, which were causing a problem for us.”
Fitzgerald says it’s also been extremely dry, which also hasn’t helped either.
“The only reason I have pumpkins this year is because I started watering in early July and we watered 24/7 for at least two months until we finally got a small rain,” said Fitzgerald. “Then we were able to shut off the irrigation.”
