GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The 10th annual Trunk or Treat event took place at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks on Sunday, October 20.

Children with various disabilities were dressed in their Halloween outfits and collecting candy from a number of people representing small businesses and organizations.

“There’s not walking around the streets. It’s all these vehicles in one place. It’s really easy for kids who might have disabilities or sensory issues. You know, autistic kids. It just works out better for them,” said David Marcus, a Border Patrol agent from the United States Border Patrol.

Over 50 vehicles were set up at the event, where people handed out candy to the kids, witnessing the joy on their faces.

“It’s just seeing all the kids be happy, dressed up, getting to be something they don’t always get to be,” said Katelyn Rude, part-time manager at Texas Roadhouse.
