Apricot Lane Boutique, Providence Hospital Offers Free Mammograms in Anchorage | Health [Video]

In a shopping center in South Anchorage, Apricot Lane Boutique and Providence Hospital are not only helping women look their best, but also are helping women feel their best, by offering free mammograms.

Meet Ann Marie Valdez, owner of the Boutique.

“We’ve done fundraisers for breast cancer research. So, we thought this would be a really fun new thing to be able to offer,” says Ann Marie Valdez, owner of Apricot Boutique in Anchorage. 

Anna Marie is all too familiar with breast cancer.

“I have two grandmothers that actually are breast cancer survivors. We’ve also had a lot of customers come in and tell us their stories,” said Valdez. 

She is taking her health seriously. And hopes that by offering mobile mammograms she’ll inspire her customers to do the same.

“I have to get a mammogram every year, as well as MRI imaging, a mammogram type thing every year or two because I am at high risk,” said Valdez.
