The ASX rose by 0.13% today, closing at 8,216 points.
Despite this, the market has lost 0.83% over the past five days and remains over 2% below its 52-week high.
Key performers included Qantas Airways, which saw a 3.97% rise, trading at A$7.86 per share, and Steadfast Group, which increased slightly, closing at A$5.55.
Declining stocks included Mineral Resources, down nearly 5% to A$35.99, and Audinate Group, which experienced volatility before ending the day 4.35% lower at A$8.57.
Sector-wise, seven sectors gained, with consumer staples leading, up 1.33%, while information technology fell by almost 1%.
On the small cap front, it was another good day for Polymetals Ltd as it set another record of $0.565 intra-day, a 22.83% increase.
Nova Minerals Ltd was as much as 25% higher during the day to $0.25, Piedmont Lithium Inc was up to 16.13% higher to $0.18, Astral Resources NL was 12% higher intra-day to $0.14, Ora Banda Mining Ltd was as much as 5/47% higher to $0.907 and Nordic Nickel climbed 36% with a 3.5-cent increase in its share price.
