Mo-Cap Workers At WWE 2K Studio File for A Union Election [Video]

Could WWE 2K games mo-cap change in the future based on a potential union formation?

According to Katie Kilkenny of The Hollywood Reporter, the IATSE is attempting to represent 21 full-time workers at 2K.

2K and their parent company Take-Take Interactive are in charge of some of the most popular video games in the industry including NBA 2K, TopSpin 2K, and of course WWE 2K.

According to Kilkenny, the union organizers requested voluntary recognition but management “declined to respond.” This is what prompted the filing of a petition with the NLRB.

In addition to mo-cap workers, the union is attempting to represent stage technicians, engineers, animators, and recording and audio specialists.

If this union goes through it’s unknown what kind of effect it will have on mo-cap for future WWE video games. WWE 2K25 is reportedly scheduled to be released in March 2025.
