Animal shelter in Collinsville starting from scratch after City cancels its contract | News [Video]

The founder of the Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven in Collinsville is responding after the City announced it would no longer continue lease negotiations. FOX23 spoke with the founder to find out what’s next for them.

The animal shelter’s founder, Susan Babbitt, told FOX23 after this they’ll have to start over from scratch.

“I’m exhausted. For like six or seven weeks now, I’ve done nothing but think about this and work with it and try to figure it out,” Babbitt said.

The Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven in Collinsville has 62 days left until their January 1 deadline to clear the shelter.

Babbitt said she’s tried everything to negotiate with the City, but she said it was no surprise when the City said they no longer wanted to negotiate.
