Alaskans Can Enroll, Renew, or Change Health Insurance Plans Starting Friday | Homepage [Video]

This week, Alaskans can enroll, renew, or change their health insurance plans. Starting Friday you can sign up for health insurance through the federal marketplace.

If you enroll by December 15, 2024, your coverage will take effect on January 1, 2025.

Officials with the Division of Insurance for Alaska encourage folks to think carefully when choosing a plan.

You want to make sure your coverage meets your needs.

“A big thing is watching networks. If you have a particular physician check to see that they’re in the network, to the insurance you’re looking at,” said Lori Wing-Heir, Alaska Director of Insurance. “We always tell people to look at where you are in life. What can you afford and then how often are you going to go to the doctor and for what?”
