MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Starting November 15, 2024, Elvis Presley’s Graceland Exhibition Center will host a world-renowned traveling exhibition.
Pompeii: The Exhibition is like taking a step back in time for one of nature’s most devastating moments in human history. Most of us are very familiar with that tragedy thousands of years ago; but, this exhibit also focuses on life in Pompeii before Mount Vesuvius erupted.
There’s no sign of the tragedy when you first walk into the exhibition. The Vice President of Archives and Exhibits for Elvis Presley’s Graceland, Angie Marchese, says it’s like walking into life in 79 A.D Pompeii.
“And so you get to see what life was really like and kind of get immersed in being in Pompeii,” she says.
There’s early Roman cookware, furniture, living spaces, jewelry, gladiator armor, paintings, sculptures and more — 150 artifacts from a seemingly idyllic city.
