Local leaders in the town of Essex, Vermont, are still considering whether or not to let the state build a new women’s correctional facility in their town.The Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility currently is in South Burlington and is the only one in Vermont, but the state says it’s outdated. The state is looking at two different parcels of land for the site but it’s not receiving much positive feedback from the public.A Planning Commission meeting was held Thursday night, where a handful of people stepped up to the microphone to express their concerns. “We’re a little bit unsatisfied with the information that was provided.
