RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Main Street Square in Rapid City is celebrating the local businesses in town this Saturday, Nov. 30.
Small Business Saturday falls every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and was started as a way to encourage people to shop their town’s small businesses ahead of the holiday season.
Small Business Saturday was started in 2010, and since then, Main Street Square has grown the day into a celebration for anyone who heads downtown this weekend. Including free parking, there will also be a winter pop-up market, vendors, bakeries and special deals at all downtown businesses.
Main Street Square also plans to open the ice rink and have a special tree-lighting ceremony for those who attend. The day will also feature the Festival of Lights, another Rapid City tradition.
