Pine Street Inn, a homeless shelter in Boston, is open every day of the week.However, Thanksgiving is the day when it gets the most attention because politicians, athletes, and celebrities show up to highlight the work they do at the inn every day of the year.Over 100 fresh turkeys are rolled in, just roasted and ready to carve, serving over 2,500 hundred meals on Thanksgiving Day.Pine Street Inn Director Lyndia Downey has worked at the shelter for over 40 years and explained their mission.”If you’re here, you don’t have any place else to go and people feel that, it’s a tough day,” Downey said. “We’re grateful that we can make it festive and grateful for the company that we have.”Food and shelter is provided at Pine Street Inn every day.
